TRADING Take a first look and gain an insight into Railroad Pioneer's trading system. Just like Track Construction or building up your own locomotive fleet, trading in Railroad Pioneer is carried out very individually and is easy to grasp. Supply and Demand The discovery and development of trading locations by the player
is an important prerequisite for successful trading. Players can only run
trains fully laden with goods if the resource fields and towns are connected
to their own railroad network.
The player will encounter areas full of resources on
his journey West (e.g. lumberjacking centers, sheep farms etc.). These
always have a need for
hard-working passengers and supply valuable resources in return (e.g.
wood, tobacco leaves). These resources are desperately needed in the
prospering
towns. Some towns specialize in certain goods during the course of time
and processing industries are created there (e.g. lumberjacking centers
-> saw mills -> furniture factories) which produce new valuable
goods. Whether and which industries thrive depends on their regular supply
by
the player.
Resource areas are located strictly outside of towns. It is only from these
areas that the player receives the raw materials for the manufacture of
high quality goods. In contrast, the manufacturing locations for processing
the resources are located within the towns. Depending on the size of the
town, there is also a permanent supply of passengers for lucrative passenger
transport. |

| Special contracts & conditions As soon as the first deliveries are channeled quickly through the clear
and easily understandable trading system, it is time to look out for
more lucrative special contracts which not only mean a lot of money for
the player but also include other bonuses. In addition to special forward
contracts which can quickly pay the player's investment off in the form
of more powerful locomotives, there are a number of unusual special contracts,
such as transporting soldiers or illegal weapons.

| Locomotive management
How do I get my locomotives on the tracks? Each player needs locomotives
and cars and stations in the trading locations where goods are to
be traded to enable the transportation of goods. The station menu
can be reached by selecting a station or a waiting train from the
locomotive list. This is where the player can plan his trains and
routes and is given an overview of the destinations he can head for. Usually a train can be created from the locomotives and cars situated in the station. Then the cars are loaded with goods and the destination is selected. If a location offers a special contract, the player can accept the contract instead of the destination. In order to do this, he must meet all conditions required by the contract (e.g. sufficient number of cars and goods in the station).
The journey commences!!!
Automatic Trading Routes The player has a great amount of freedom in locomotive management. He
can manage all trains and cars individually. He also has the possibility
of establishing fixed trading routes right at the beginning in order
to be able to concentrate on other aspects of the game. With trading
routes, the player can target up to five different destinations and buy
and sell various goods.
